When I started Best Travel Guitars It was really about traveling and finding that perfect guitar to fit the journey. It wasn’t so much about the guitar as I have my old trusty Martin and it fits me well. Despite being old it’s in great condition and I don’t like slopping it all over the place. The solution was a small portable beater…..right?
I was talking with a friend of mine about how my wrist is still far from being able to grasp the neck of my guitar. He pointed out that I was left-handed and should therefore be playing a left-handed guitar and not a right handed one. I have to admit I had never thought of that before. The chords seemed difficult so it made sense to use my dominant hand for that. As I've gotten better and tried to teach myself how to finger pick Ive struggled, so flipping things around might make sense. It would certainly enable me to play now.
As I've been looking at left handed-guitars I've also been thinking about one that I could throw in the car along with the giant stroller and the Pack & Play. Right now my hard-cased Martin takes up a lot of room, so a travel guitar makes sense. Hence the discovery of this site which seems useful for my readers who like to take their guitars with them.
