On Martin Luther Kind Day, the 92nd Street Y is going to present a staged reading of a new play called Seven. The play is a set of seven interwoven monologues written by seven well-know playwrights from interviews they conducted with seven amazing activists from around the world. It is inspiring and it will probably have some celebrity actresses involved. I've read it and was quite moved and can't wait to see it on stage, though I am a little biased as the the project was conceived and put together by my mother. There is a site describing the project with links to tickets. Hopefully those of you in NY might be able to make it but even if you can't take a look at the site to see the brief stories of the activists.
Diamond Age was a huge influence on me and still is (though I don't seem to be living that professionally - ahem need to fix that) but I think cryptonomicon would make a better movie.
