GreenYour.com a site for which I've done a fair bit of consulting has finally launched in Beta. The site enables you to enter a thing you want to "green" and receive tips, products, and the overview of the environmental issues behind the topic. They have also posted some job openings on PaidContent for a Marketing Director and a product database manager. A lot of the success of the site will depend on their distribution deals, ability to drive product links and figure out how to scale the concept which are in the Marketing Director posting. Green is a crowded space with a lot of not for profits offering tips, and calculators and on the for profit side with media companies like Yahoo, Hearst and Discovery (through Tree
hugger) creating sites with green info, and many wonderful sites in between like Grist. No one has really become the leader yet and there are some questions, to my mind at least, on whether there will be a leader . But if any company should be able to figure it out it is GreenOrder, the leading Green Consultancy to Fortune 500's who is the parent of GreenYour. If any friends reading this want me to put in a good word with the people reading the resumes let me know.
